ANPRIoT chooses cloud-native technology
You’ve doubtless heard of cloud-based and cloud-native technologies, but do you know the difference?
One is infinitely more scalable, streamlined and sophisticated than the other and that’s why at ANPRIoT we choose to be Cloud-native.
Cloud-native versus cloud-based
Cloud-native systems like ANPRIoT’s are built for the cloud, harnessing the power of cloud service providers such as Amazon Web Services.
Instead of just taking traditional software and placing it in the cloud, cloud-native design creates software specifically for cloud environments. This gives us new, advanced methods by which to control, monitor and manage all the elements within our software platform. It also allows for a more rapid evolution of our technologies, with no downtime for our operators. A cloud-native architecture fundamentally streamlines traditionally complex infrastructures, saving both design and administration time and costs.
The concept of cloud-native solutions involves breaking up software into smaller pieces. These pieces are autonomous services that work in conjunction with each other to fulfil a complex operation – here car park operating.
For ANPRIoT, payment systems, membership, tariff management, occupancy control, the ability to quickly check customer insights, etc are all the smaller pieces of a larger cloud-native system.
With cloud-native technology there is a great degree of flexibility and systems are built to scale, with multiple elements (again things such as payment systems, occupancy control, etc) communicating together, yet still operating and scaling independently. The functioning of each area of the system can be upgraded without disruption and without compromise to any other element.
Cloud-based technologies are tightly integrated, often monolithic, meaning that upgrading one component impacts the entire system. This is not cost-effective and can cause a serious amount of disruption and downtime for both operators and their customers.
Cloud-based is, quite simply, the poor relation of cloud-native technology. It allows access to some elements of the ‘cloud’ technology but not all. It is not infinitely scalable, and it will result in operational issues and significant downtime when system errors occur or upgrades are required.
Future-proofed
In summary, ANPRIoT’s cloud-native technology, which uses AWS, is at the forefront of digital innovation, leveraging the latest advancements in cloud computing, AI and IoT to deliver a highly efficient, resilient, and futureproof parking management solution. There is no system downtime. There is no disruption for your customers. There is no other option.
